How do I know the workers are trustworthy and capable?

Can I review a candidate before accepting them?

Before accepting anyone for a job, you'll be able to see their public profile, including past job history on Candou and reviews from previous shifts (if they have any). Candou doesn't vet or recommend Candou'ers - the choice is entirely yours.

How quickly can I hire someone?

Most shifts are filled within hours, sometimes minutes!

What happens if a worker doesn’t show up?

Each Candou’er commits to a "no-show" charge in the event they fail to show up for work without having cancelled during the Cancellation Window.

Is this effectively a zero-hours contract?

Candou is the opposite of a zero-hours contract. Zero-hours contracts often leave individuals unable to commit to multiple companies, with shifts allocated that may not suit their plans.

Candou flips that model. Here, individuals choose how many hours they want to work, where they want to work, and when. It gives them back control and certainty, so they can plan ahead, show up with confidence, and deliver their best - motivated, reliable candidates who actually want to be there.

How do I pay for shifts on Candou?

All payments are handled securely through Stripe. Funds are automatically debited once the job is complete, based on actual time worked, and paid directly to the Candou'er. A separate Platform Fee payable to Candou  is debited at the same time. No chasing invoices, no payroll headaches.

Do I have to pay the Candou Enhanced Pay?

Yes, but how much you choose to contribute is up to you. Candou asks every company to top up earnings in the absence of traditional benefits like holiday pay or sick leave, which self-employed workers are not entitled to. There's a flexible range, and how much you choose is a reflection of your values and leadership. Companies that contribute more tend to attract better talent, build stronger relationships and retain workers longer. It's not just a cost, it's a signal of trust and fairness.
